About

Dr. Nannette Hyland was the former Program Director of the Doctor of Physical Therapy program, and is now the Interim Dean at ĢAV for School of Health and Natural Science..  She has been a faculty member at ĢAV since 1997 in the physical therapy program.  Throughout her time at ĢAV she has served as President of the Faculty Senate, Chair of the Graduate Curriculum Committee and Chair of the Committee on Assessment of Student Learning. 

Dr. Nannette Hyland has professional service within the American Physical Therapy Association at both the state and national level, currently serving on the Leadership Development Oversight Committee for the American Council of Academic Physical Therapy's Leadership Academy. 

 

Dr. Nannette Hyland primary teaching focus revolves around motor learning & control, rehabilitation of individuals with limb loss, movement analysis including gait assessment, and the development of clinical reasoning.  She has more than 20 years of teaching experience within the college.  She enjoys utilizing a variety of mediums to engage students in her courses.

Dr. Nannette Hyland research interests include studying the impact of of interprofessional educational experiences; methods of delivery and practices within physical therapy education and the study of movement through movement analysis/ gait analysis.

Live Stronger Move Better. Assessing an Indoor Cycling Protocol in Reducing Parkinson’s Symptoms from the Rainwater Foundation (Co-investigator).  2019-21

ĢAV Teaching Innovation Grant:  Co-Author. To Fund Experiential Learning Project with Doctor of Physical Therapy students and Exercise Science students of performing fitness and movement screens on ĢAV student athletes. 2015
